Walking was a challenge and on the days Julienne couldn’t ride public transport she had to walk to school. Standing sometimes was a huge struggle. It would take almost two hours of tenacity under the scotching sun to walk to school.
She was stigmatized and rejected by relatives, friends and school mates because of her condition.
Julienne got this transformation from international charity, Mercy Ships, who took full responsibility of the cost of surgery.
