Eat more fruits and vegetables: vegetables contain an array of antioxidants and other disease-fighting compounds that are very difficult to get anywhere else and have been proven to help lower the risk of chronic disease, risks of stroke, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and Alzheimer’s disease.
Veggies and fruits give you carbohydrates; vitamins; minerals and fiber which you need to stay healthy. Eat more of freshly washed cucumbers, onions, cabbage, broccoli, asparagus, oranges to mention but a few. So, If you want to be healthy and strong, you should eat more of vegetables and fruits.
Breakfast: don’t skip your breakfast and make sure that it is as healthy as possible. Breakfast will help you to be focus and productive all day long. Your breakfast could be cereal, noodles, pap (akamu) with fried plantain and egg or with bean cake (akara), tea and bread, sliced apple and veggie omelet, fruit and low-fat milk, toasted bread and coffee, fruit with yogurt to mention but a few. Just make sure you have your breakfast every morning.
Healthy snack: Snacks is good for you during the day because they help you to stay alert. Snacks like cookies, crunchy plantain chips, sausage rolls, dry cereal, apple, raisins and low-fat yogurt.
Exercise more often: avoid sedentary lifestyle as best as you can. Avoid watching TV for long periods. 30 minutes physical activities every day can control your weight, reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, improve your mental health and mood, and strengthen your bones and muscles.
Eat in moderation: according to nutrition textbooks, a moderate diet is one that is devoid of excessive amounts of calories or any particular food or nutrient. Too much of calories or any of the essential nutrients is bad for you so you must have to watch how much of them that you eat.
